This bag was hand woven by a Karen woman in a refugee village in northern Thailand. Her loom is made of sticks of bamboo and tied to a tree. It takes her about 3 days to complete each piece. Each is a wearable work of art. The Karen use these bags for everyday work: carrying chicken feed, vegetables from the garden, tools, and anything else they need. The extra wide shoulder strap makes this bag very comfortable to carry, even when it’s full and heavy.
It makes a great purse, book bag, travel bag, diaper bag, or use it to organize projects, or carry groceries.
