Doi Muser Charis Home

This is a home for orphaned and abandoned children in a hill tribe community located in the mountains between Tak and Mae Sot, Thailand.
There are 28 children and 4 full-time adult supervisors along with a helping community.

At the moment this home is still dependent on external support. However, between growing and raising food, and the truck we bought for them in 2010 which they use for a transport business the amount of support they need has gone down from $3000US/month to $1600/month.

As of October 2011 we now own 2 plots of land, one on which to build an orphanage and biointensive farm, and the other a fish pond for aquaponic production.

land

Aquaponics - A farming technique combining aquaculture and hydroponics, it yields a fish crop and plant crop at the same time, using the same amount of water. The fish fertilize the plants, enabling them to grow up to 3 times as fast.
